Claire Holdich graduated from the University of Hull with a first class degree in Music in 2004, and was also awarded the Departmental Prize for outstanding musical achievement.
Claire has been teaching singing, flute and music theory privately and in schools for over 12 years. She currently teaches at Wyke Sixth Form College, and for the Yorkshire Young Musicians project which offers advanced training for talented musicians across the Yorkshire and Humber region. Claire is also a theory examiner for Trinity College, London and in September 2019 became musical director of Hull Musical Theatre Company. As well as regularly performing solo flute recitals, Claire is principal flute of the Eclectic Wind Orchestra and 2nd flute in the Eclectic Orchestra.
Claire is also an active member of the education team at the British Flute Society and helps continually develop effective teaching skills for the flute. Claire’s expertise spans the genres from Baroque and Classical to Romantic, 20th Century and extended contemporary techniques.
